Admission & Payments

Age Limit & Skating Ability

All ages and skating abilities are welcome.

Everyone must have skates on to enter the skating floor.

Ticketing

The number of admission tickets offered per session is limited; you must purchase tickets online to guarantee admission. Tickets are available for online purchase starting 90 days in advance. Walk-in purchasing is subject to availability.

If you wish to use a Chipper Card to book your ticket in advance, call 503-233-5777 or email weborders@oakspark.com M-F between 9 AM and 4 PM.

A ticket is required for each person who is skating. Tickets are only valid for the selected session and cannot be used for a different day/time.

Cash-Free Rink

Starting March 13, Oaks Park accepts card payments only at all locations, including ticketing windows, games, concessions, retail locations, parking meters, etc. You can pay for purchases using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, a debit or prepaid card, or a Chipper Card. Select locations also accept Apple Pay and Android Pay.

What if I only have cash?

  • ReadyCard cash-to-card machines are available to convert cash to a prepaid card. Cards can be loaded with $1-$500. ReadyCards cannot be reloaded.
  • If you do not use all of your preloaded funds during your visit, you can use the card offsite anywhere in the U.S. that Mastercard is accepted.
  • ReadyCard machines are located near Guest Services, near the shooting gallery in the historic Blue Streak building, and in the Roller Rink lobby.
  • You can check your card balance at the onsite kiosk, by calling the number on the back of the card, or by visiting rcbalance.com.
  • Keep your ReadyCard receipt. If you have issues with your card, you can call the number printed on it, and if you have your receipt, a representative from the card company will be able to help you. Unfortunately, if you do not have your receipt, there’s nothing we can do.

Refunds & Cancellations

Tickets are non-refundable.

Tickets are only valid for the date/time set at the time of purchase. In cases of emergency, the date for the ticket validity may be rescheduled by emailing weborders@oakspark.com at least 72 hours before the original reservation date/time.

Skates

Standard skate rental is included at no additional charge.  Specialty skates are available to rent at the Skate Shop (subject to availability) for an additional fee of $3-5.

Personal skates are welcome, subject to inspection.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome at no charge. Spectators may not enter the skating floor.

Safety & Mandatory Waivers

Skate at Your Own Risk

Roller skating is a physical activity with an inherent risk of injury; by participating, you assume the risk of injury.

Mandatory Waivers

All visitors participating in roller skating must complete a waiver. Waivers for minors must be completed by a parent or guardian. Any individual who does not have a waiver on file will not be able to skate.

Please submit your waiver before you arrive at the rink. Waivers are valid for 90 days from the date of submission.

Safe Skating Practices

Headgear, headsets, Bluetooth headphones, and sunglasses may not be worn while roller skating. Hats may not be worn while skating except when secured with a hat clip. Loose items, such as cell phones, cameras, stuffed animals, etc., are not permitted on the skating floor. Loose clothing draped around the body may not be taken on the skating floor.

All guests must wear skates to be on the skating floor. For everyone's safety, the following behaviors are prohibited: jumping, fast or reckless skating, weaving, zigzagging, and practicing roller derby moves through traffic. Pushing, shoving, racing, chasing, or playing tag is prohibited in the Roller Rink. All skaters must keep moving while on the skating floor; skaters may not stop and stand along the sidewalls or eat and drink over the walls.

No one, including parents of small children, may pick up and/or carry anyone while wearing skates. Sitting on or jumping over the sidewalls is not allowed. Sitting on laps or showing excessive affection is not permitted.

Violating any of these rules may result in eviction from the premises without refunds. Report all conflicts and safety concerns to the staff.

At the Rink

Food & Beverages

Outside food/beverages are prohibited.

The rink cafe is operational during select Open Skate sessions; view menu.

Vending machines are available during all sessions.

Cards and mobile pay are the only form of payment accepted at the cafe counter. Starting 3/15/2025, vending machines only accept cards.

Music

Live Pipe Organ Sessions

  • THU @ 7 PM
  • SUN @ 1 PM and 7 PM

All other Open Skate sessions feature a mix of current top-40s and retro hits.

Birthday Shout-outs

On SAT/SUN, we have scheduled times for sending out birthday wishes over the loudspeaker as follows: 2:30 PM, 4 PM, 8:30 PM, and 9:30 PM (SAT only). To add a name to our shout-out list, visit the Skate Shop. Individual birthday shout-outs are only made to call scheduled party package groups into the Cafe for their table time.

During weekday sessions, please visit the Skate Shop for birthday shout-out options.

Arcade

The redemption arcade is open during all Open Skate sessions. Cards are the only form of payment accepted at the games.

Lockers

Coin-operated lockers are available until 3/12/2025.

Starting 3/13/2025, lockers will be token-operated; tokens can be purchased at the Box Office or Skate Shop.

Theme Nights

Pre2K Night: On the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month, join DJ Maxx Bass during the evening Open Skate session for a throwback bash as he spins the raddest jams from the roller rink era of 1970-1999. Rock your retro gear and rewind to the good ol' days! Regular admission rates apply.

Glow Skate: Happening during the 7-10:30 PM Open Skate Session on the 2nd Friday of the month, October-April, our popular Glow Skate features our disco lights, black-out skate specials, and a free glow stick with paid admission. Regular admission rates apply.

More Theme Nights: Select Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the evening Open Skate session, we make your skating experience that much more fun with interactive themes, guest DJs, and more. Visit our Specials Page for info about upcoming events.

The Roller Rink does not have A/C. The main skating floor is cooled by a swamp cooler. Rick's Cafe is air-conditioned.

Parking

Daily Parking

A daily parking fee of $4 per vehicle applies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The fee is payable onsite via self-service parking meters or on your mobile device. Only credit, debit, and prepaid cards are accepted at the parking meters. Chipper cards are not accepted at the parking meters. There are no refunds.

Parking spaces are first-come, first-served, and the lot frequently fills to capacity; do not purchase parking until you are parked onsite. Carpooling is strongly recommended.

The lot is private property and is only available to Oaks Park visitors. Vehicles not parked in designated parking stalls and those blocking the flow of traffic will be towed by A&B Towing at the owner’s expense.

Failure to pay the parking fee will result in penalties. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Monthly & Quarterly Permits

For frequent visitors, monthly/quarterly unlimited parking permits are available. Parking permits are only available online.

  • Monthly Unlimited Permit: $13
  • Quarterly Unlimited Permit: $33

Parking spaces are first-come, first-served, and the lot frequently fills to capacity; permit parking is subject to parking space availability at the time of arrival. Vehicles not parked in designated parking stalls and those blocking traffic flow will be towed by A&B Towing at the owner’s expense.

Chipper's Preschool Skate & Sensory Skate

Admission & Payments
Day & Time

Chipper's Preschool Skate takes place Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10-11:30 AM, October through May (excluding holidays).

We are proud to now offer a special sensory-sensitive skate time during the Wednesday Preschool Skate session. Music volumes will be reduced, disco lights turned off, and a quiet sensory play space will be provided.

Age Limit & Skating Ability

Chipper's Preschool Skate is for children 6 and younger only.

On Wednesdays, children 10 and younger are welcome to participate in our Sensory Skate which takes place during the Preschool Skate session.

Older children may only attend with a younger sibling who meets the age requirement; you must purchase admission for the older sibling to skate.

One adult may skate free per paid child. If you will have more adults attending than paid children, you must purchase admission for the additional adults.

At the Rink
Shoes & Strollers

Chipper's Preschool Skate is the only time guests may enter the skating floor in shoes. It is also the only time that strollers may be taken onto the skating floor.

Group Lesson

As part of this specialty session, Coach Amy teaches a 15-minute group skating lesson, introducing young kids to body movement principles while helping toddlers learn to follow directions through fun skate games. The group lesson start time varies. Caregivers are encouraged to participate with their children.

Food & Beverages

Outside food/beverages are prohibited with the exception of snacks for children with special dietary needs.

Admission to Preschool Skate includes a snack of cookies and juice, served in the cafe.

The cafe counter is closed during Preschool Skate. Vending machines are available. Starting 3/15/2025, vending machines only accept cards.

Music

Preschool Skate features toddler tunes specifically geared toward young children.

Arcade

The redemption arcade is closed during Chipper's Preschool Skate.

Home School Skate takes place during the school year on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 10 AM-12 PM.

Age Limit & Skating Ability

This session is for K-12 homeschool students and their families.

All ages and skating abilities are welcome.

Everyone must have skates on to enter the skating floor.

All guests must wear skates to be on the skating floor. Pushing, shoving, racing, chasing, or playing tag is prohibited in the Roller Rink. All skaters must keep moving while on the skating floor; skaters may not stop and stand along the sidewalls or eat and drink over the walls.

No one, including parents of small children, may pick up and/or carry anyone while wearing skates. Sitting on or jumping over the sidewalls is not allowed. Sitting on laps or showing excessive affection is not permitted.

Violating any of these rules may result in eviction from the premises without refunds. Report all conflicts and safety concerns to the staff.

At the Rink
STEM Program

On first Mondays, during the Home School Skate session, we now offer an educational STEM program curated specifically for homeschool students. Each lesson will demonstrate how STEM is used within multiple facets of roller skating and teach concepts such as motion, energy, gravitational force, sound vibrations, waves, reverse engineering a roller skate, and so much more! Kids' Morning is for children 10 and younger only.

From October through May, our USA Roller Sports certified instructors teach a 15-minute group lesson concentrated on getting new skaters rolling and comfortable on their skates as part of this specialty session. The group lesson start time varies. Caregivers are encouraged to participate with their children.

From June through September, there is no lesson with the session.

The lot is private property and is only available to Oaks Park visitors. Vehicles not parked in designated parking stalls and those blocking the flow of traffic will be towed by A&B Towing at the owner’s expense.

Failure to pay the parking fee will result in penalties. Rates are subject to change without notice.

Monthly & Quarterly Permits

For frequent visitors, monthly/quarterly unlimited parking permits are available. Parking permits are only available online.

  • Monthly Unlimited Permit: $13
  • Quarterly Unlimited Permit: $33

Parking spaces are first-come, first-served, and the lot frequently fills to capacity; permit parking is subject to parking space availability at the time of arrival. Bus Parking

Complimentary bus parking is available when arranged in advance.

Bike Parking

Complimentary bike racks are available near the Roller Rink.

Use a secure bike lock; Oaks Park is not responsible for loss or damage.
