Oaks Park is proud to present the most kid-friendly Oktoberfest in the pacific northwest. Not only are children welcome in all event venues during all festival hours, but we offer special activities just to add to the wonder and excitement of our littlest guests.

● 12-5 PM: "Herzen und Kronen" Crafts
Create a heart necklace and a Bavarian crown!
● 2 PM & 4 PM: Rocktoberfest
Red Shoe Productions rocks the Family Festhalle with a special show just for kids featuring music, dancing, and games.
● 3:45 PM: Children's Chicken Dance Party
Join Chipper the Squirrel on the Main Festhalle dance floor for a special Chicken Dance contest just for kids 12 and younger!

Wiener Dog Races
Saturday
12-2 PM & 4-6:30 PM

Cheer for your favorite furry friend in the most adorable race on 4 legs!  Heats for standard size, miniature, and dachshund mix pups.

Portion of entry proceeds go to dachshund rescues. Races held in Picnic Area 9.

Cooking Demonstrations

Learn the secrets of traditional Bavarian cooking as our special guest chef shows you around the kitchen, all while taking in breathtaking views of the Willamette River and Portland's West Hills.  Cooking demonstrations held in theHistoric Picnic Area 11 Gazebo.

Pretzel Toss Contest
Friday-Sunday

A game of ring-toss with a German twist!  Get the most pretzels around the plunger and win great prizes.

Couples square off to see who can draw the most crowd-pleasing dirndl using just ketchup and mustard!

Chicken Dance Contest

Everyone's favorite!  Time to see which family can win over the crowd to be crowned the Chicken Dance champs of PDX!

Festhalle Dance Floors

One of the main features of Oaks Park Oktoberfest is getting up out of your seat and joining your neighbors as we fill the dance floor!  Grab your guy or gal and kick your heels up to the best oompah music around.  All ages are welcome on our dance floors, so save a special dance for grandma, grandpa, and your little ones too!  Not sure how to dance?  Our Main Festhalle host and hostess are happy to help you learn the two-step or some old fashioned polka moves.Dance floors located in the Main Festhalle and Family Festhalle and open during all band performances.

Vendor Village
Friday-Sunday

Over 30 artisan craft vendors and local German importers offer their wares. Support local small business, and even get started on your Christmas shopping a bit early with unique and affordable treasures made by your neighbors!

Oktoberfest Photo Booth
Friday-Sunday

Enjoy a fun, FREE, Oktoberfest themed photo booth presented by Spotlight Home Group! It will have lots of festive props and backdrops that take you to the original Munich Oktoberfest. Share your photos with friends and they might think you are in Germany!  Located in the Main Festhalle.

Oaks Park Midway

A genuine Oktoberfest celebration always includes the thrills of the midway!  From kiddie rides to Oregon's most extreme thrill experience, Adrenaline Peak Roller Coaster, plus mini golf and midway games, there is something fun for every Oktoberfest guest!

Fun is really on a roll at the Oaks Park Roller Skating Rink!  Skating is included with every ride bracelet, or purchase admission to skate for just $7.50 per person!  Friday & Saturday sessions feature a live DJ, Sunday sessions feature the famous live Wurlitzer Pipe Organ.
