Oaks Amusement Park is where work and play go hand-in-hand! Operated by the Oaks Park Association, Oaks Park is a historical amusement park and roller skating rink, located in Southeast Portland on the banks of the Willamette River. The purpose of Oaks Park is to provide recreational activities for guests of all ages.

RIDE OPERATORS (18 and older)

Job Duties: Welcome and greet customers, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service to contribute to an overall memory-making experience. Check for proof of payment. Operate rides and attraction systems. Deal with height requirements, load and unload attractions. Deliver narrations of varying lengths and provide audience control. At all times, enforce and maintain all safety requirements for operator and guests. Conduct daily inspections of attractions and sign off safety check-off sheet for assigned ride. Keep work areas clean. Inform leads and/or supervisors of any significant concerns and problems. Perform other work as assigned. On the job training is provided and required for all ride operators and inspectors.

 

Qualifications: ​​You must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this position. Must be able to provide consistent, friendly, and helpful service to employees and guests, respond appropriately to difficult customer service situations, and communicate clearly with fellow staff members and customers. Must be able to stand for several hours in an outdoor environment and some lifting may be required. A great level of observation is required and you must pay attention to your surroundings and customers on your ride.

 

Schedule: MUST be flexible to work all shifts, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The park operates seasonally (March to the end of September), 6 days a week, Tuesday – Sunday (with some Monday openings). Some shifts start as early as 8:00 am and may end as late as Midnight.

 

Wage: $12.00 per hour, part-time seasonal.

SECURITY/GUEST RELATIONS (18 and older)

Job Duties: Welcome and greet customers, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service to contribute to an overall memory-making experience. Direct and control parking.  Locate lost person(s) and property.  Patrol all areas of the park to prevent and reduce loss. Operate golf cart, bobcat, bicycle, or other transportation vehicles.  Provide First Aid, CPR and or AED as needed.  Perform other work as assigned.

Qualifications: You must be at least 18 years old to be considered for this position. Must provide consistent, friendly, and helpful service to employees and guests and respond appropriately to difficult customer service situations.  Must be able to stay level-headed and do fact-finding and gathering of information through interviews, reports, and observations. Must have the ability to communicate clearly with fellow staff members and customers. Must be able to write-up and report findings. Must be able to stand and or walk for several hours in an outdoor environment.  Occasional jumping, running, or strenuous activity required. Must pay attention to your surroundings; a great level of observation is required. Must be able to listen and communicate clearly on a multi-channel radio.  Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.  Must obtain State of Oregon security certification within 120 days of hire.

Schedule: Seasonal swing shift (3pm-11pm), 32 to 39.5 hours a week

Wage: DOE ($12.00 - $15.00 per hour), part-time seasonal.

FOOD SERIVCE DEPARTMENT (14 and older)

Job Duties: Welcome and greet customers, answer questions and provide excellent customer service to contribute to an overall memory-making experience. Take orders, relay orders to cooks, receive payment,and deliver orders. Cook and prepare a variety of fast food burgers and side orders. Continual clean-up of food stands, condiment,and work areas during each shift. Perform in-depth cleaning duties at the beginning and end of each shift. Maintain food, work safety, and sanitation requirements. Inform leads and/or supervisors of any significant concerns and problems. Perform other work as assigned.

 

Qualifications:​ ​​​Must be 14 years old or older for the cash register and​ ​to deliver food. Must be 16 years old or older to cook food. Customer service, cash handling experience, and math skills are desirable. Must provide consistent, friendly,​ ​and helpful service to employees and guests, respond appropriately to difficult customer service situations, communicate clearly with fellow staff members and customers. Must be able to stand for several hours at a time in a covered outdoor setting and be able to lift 40 pounds. Must obtain an Oregon Food Handler card within 30 days of hire.
